Hee! They are fun. I started thinking in vidding before actaully doing it for a while, which was quite frustrating. But then it turned out to be easier than I thought. I mean, the people who make really amazing vids and stuff put a lot of work into it, and most of them have good programs and stuff too. But if you have a PC, there's a thing called "Windows Movie Maker" that comes with the computer, and you can upload video and audio files to it. You probably know about the House episode downloading communities I'm sure, so. From there, it's easy. You should give it a try, if you want to!
I discovered vidding with Star Wars. At first I was like "wtf?! People do this?" It seemed bizarre at first, but the first vid I saw that really worked for me, where I said, "Ok, awesome, I want to do this too," was Missing (http://www.angelfire.com/space2/starwarsscenes2/) by di_br - it's extremely well done, and also says something really effectively about Obi-Wan and Anakin and their situation, where Obi-Wan is sort of like an older sibling forced into a father role...
So yeah, I am happy I've discovered the joy of vidding and watching vids.
