Summary and Notes: Anakin's fall. This is similar to my last vid, except that this is more about Anakin the person, and what he goes through, rather than what he does. It begins in amidst the destruction and pain Anakin's caused, but then stops to look back on all that has happened and how he, and Padme and Obi-Wan, have gotten where they are now.
As a child, Anakin was taken away from his mother, and the person he thought would look after him (Qui-Gon) died only days after; after years of separation, he witnessed his mother's death and was unable to keep his promise to her that he'd save her. He was met with mistrust by the Jedi council from the moment they laid eyes on him, and his relationship with Obi-Wan, though they do both care about each other very much, is emotionally unfulfilling for Anakin. He seeks that fulfillment from Padme, but that relationship becomes, in his mind, all he has, and so he becomes so afraid of losing it that he ends up destroying it. Meanwhile, Palpatine has been playing with that emotional vulnerability and gaining Anakin's trust since he was a little boy and planning to manipulate and trap him in his control. When Anakin turns to the Dark Side, he resigns himself to his fear and desperation, giving up everything with a fatalistic dread; there's a sense that once you've crossed a line, you can't go back.
This is secretly the first fanvid I ever made. Except, it's a remake of it. (Let's not talk about the first one.)
