Title: Epiphany
Song: "Epiphany" by Staind
Description/Author's Notes: I was trying to work on my fast-pased, House/Vicodin, Tritter-arc, Jimmy Eat World vid, but lost steam and so turned to my old reliable sad!House-muse. He angsts to slow music so well. Anyway, this is simply a character study of House, in which he is perhaps more self-aware than usual, but then, that's why it's an epiphany I guess.

(And - I finally got fed up with the DIVX logo watermark and googled "go away divx" - amazingly simple solution. Why didn't I do it months ago?)

Alright, here it is:

And if anyone wants to download it: sendspace link

I liked this very much. As I've said before, I'm no vid afficionado, but I thought that you linked clips very well. I liked the bit when his eyes snapped open at a change in the music - Can't take any more of this, I think.

Thanks. I liked that part too actually. :) Thank you for watching.

Ooh, God, I totally love you for using this song-it's a personal favourite of mine, and it fits House to a t. It's beautifully done, hon!

Thanks. It's a favorite of mine too. Brings me right back to the good old days (irony) of 8th grade. Heh. I'm glad you liked it.

Oh, I liked this a lot. That mellow, every day angst was well-done. I would have liked to see a bit less fading to black in the vid, and I also would like to see this vid up for download somewhere because of the low youtube quality. Thank you for this though, because it filled a House vid need I didn't even know I had, that other House vids didn't fill--that whole life measured out in coffeecups of regret feeling.

Thanks. I suppose I really do overuse the fade-to-black... lol It's my fall back when I'm not sure things are connecting smoothly. Oh, well. But thanks - I got a T.S. Eliot allusion in a review! :) That was definitely the feeling I wanted to evoke, so I'm glad it came across. I've uploaded the vid to sendspace now, if you'd like a copy.

You're right - he does angst wonderfully to music :)

Heh, it's true. :) Thanks for watching!

I found it sort of amusing finishing this video after we had that discussion about whether or not House is at all insecure or unhappy, lol. I had also started a vid to "Fat Lip" by Sum41 (lyrics (http://www.thelyricarchive.com/lyrics/fatlip.shtml)) which would possibly be a more accurate portrait - the fun-loving, living-for-the-moment asshole. Shrug. I still like my House angst-ridden and melancholy. ;)

(I suppose he can be both - people usually are.)

Ooh, excellent lyrics - that would be fun. Of course House has his insecure and unhappy times (I never suggested that he didn't, I don't think *g*)... I don't think he'd be human otherwise! I do think that he is both deeply angsty and living-for-the-moment - and that's what makes him so interesting :)

Staind is one of my favorite groups, but I never really connected this song to House until your video. And it fit so perfectly! I liked the part where House drove away from Wilson on the motorcycle & the phrase "I talk to you like children" coupled w/ the scene with the ducklings. Great job! *Dena*

Thanks! I used to love Staind, and do still listen to them occasionally. This song was an old favorite, and then it struck me recently how well it could apply to House. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching!

I've never heard that song before. And it's not the kinda song I'd usually like...But I did! Cos your vid is awesome. The song was too perfect for House. I was reading the other comments and I really like the F2B effects. I think it makes people pay more attention. Aswell as smooth the edges of editing. I have 2 house vids. I would post them if I knew how! But they aren't all angsty. I'm a shipper through and through. Good work! @:p

Thank you! Glad you thought the fades worked, and that you thought the song fit. Are you vids on YouTube? Because if you want to embed them in your LJ, just go to your vid and click "edit" and then it'll take you to a page where if you scroll down, there's a code at the bottom which you can just paste into your journal. Hope that helps. Thanks for your comments.

Thanks. The song is one of my old favorites, which I hadn't listened to for a while, but when I recently took out that cd again, it occurred to me how well it could apply to House (especially with his recent description of wanting to know he did/does "the right thing") and I couldn't shake it. Glad you liked the vid.
